Dear Boba,

For the days when doubt creeps in, I’m proud of us for choosing courage and curiosity over comfort and complacency.

Sure, we could choose the career path where you would have traded your sanity for a salary or the relationship that was good on tape, but a betrayal for your soul.

Sure, you could have silenced the tiny aching voice telling you to settle down and pack your big dreams into shadows where dreams dissolve.

Sure, you could be happy if you drowned your evening with enough wine and shower yourself with enough cries, and yes, you could have chosen easy, you could have chosen safe, you could have curved yourself a beautiful on the outside a dying on the inside box but you didn’t.

You packed up your misunderstood dreams and chose the journey to somewhere, anywhere. You listened to what was no longer that tiny aching voice, the inescapable echo breaking through the lies that you built most of your life on.

You decided the fear of a half lived life was far too heavy a burden to carry than the fear of life’s unknown.

So, on the days when your spine shudders because you’ve hit a wall with questions seeking answers, you’ve done the right thing.

Remember this, you could have chosen to exist in your own story, but instead, you chose to live all the way through it, and for that, I’m proud of you, I’m proud of us.

B.
